Eric Knowles' Valuation Service

I am able to offer a service to provide valuations for both insurance and probate. Inspections take place at the client’s home or when appropriate their bank. Obviously all such work is carried out with the utmost degree of discretion and confidentiality.

No job is considered too small and visits take place throughout the UK, Europe and overseas.

A draft copy of the valuation is usually submitted for inspection and approval, subject to which two bound copies are hand delivered or despatched by Recorded Delivery together with a set of digital images or photographs.

I am unable to personally value jewellery inset with precious stones and for such valuations that relate to diamonds and gems I am pleased to recommend the services of John C Benjamin Ltd and will be delighted to provide the necessary introduction.

Fees are subject to inspection and I reserve the right to negotiate
individual charges on higher value properties.

Selling

I am also able to act and offer advice on behalf of to those wishing to sell Antiques and Fine Art and wish to stress that my consultancy is not a dealership and as such does not carry stock.

My intention is to sell an item for the highest price that the current market dictates acting on a commission only basis.

After initial inspection a minimum reserve is discussed and agreed. A receipt is provided and the property is then shown to a range of premier UK or international buyers, the highest offer is conveyed to the vendor for final approval and payment made shortly after acceptance.  All consignments are fully insured.

When considered appropriate I may recommend sale by auction and here I make no charge over and above my initial inspection fees and travel costs.
